It all began three months ago, when a group of enthusiastic students embarked on a meaningful adventure to understand the essence of giving back to the community. With a goal to explore the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the significance of community engagement, they set out on a path of empathy and empowerment.
From hearing the stories of social impact changemakers to diving deep into the workings of Lotus Petal Charitable Foundation, our partner NGO, the journey was nothing short of transformative. The students rolled up their sleeves and engaged in hands-on activities that went beyond classrooms - guiding school children through creative workshops on dance, yoga, art, origami and role play on human rights. They also sparked curiosity through science experiments and foundational Math sessions, igniting young minds with knowledge.
Their commitment didn't stop there. The students stepped into the community kitchen, contributing to the serving of meals. It was an eye-opening experience that taught them not just the value of service, but also the power of a simple meal in spreading happiness. The opportunity to interact with the staff and share heartfelt notes of gratitude added a personal touch to their contributions, making them cherish the relationships formed along the way.
As the program drew to a close, guided by their mentor, the students reflected on their journey - how their understanding of social responsibility deepened and the new skills they gained through the process. This transformative experience culminated in a certification ceremony on 21st September 2024, marking their growth and accomplishments.
